Mike Krieger co-founded Instagram with Kevin Systrom in 2010. The two built Instagram to 13 employees and 30 million users before selling to Facebook for $1 billion — one of the most prescient acquisitions in tech history. Krieger served as CTO, building Instagram's technical infrastructure as it scaled to over a billion users. Both he and Systrom resigned from Facebook in 2018 following reported disagreements with Zuckerberg over Instagram's direction.
