Tobi Lütke

Shopify
Ottawa, Canada
Tobi Lütke co-founded Shopify in 2006 after building his own snowboard shop and being frustrated by the available e-commerce tools. A self-taught programmer, he wrote Shopify's original code himself. Under his leadership, Shopify became the operating system for over 1.7 million merchants worldwide. Known for running Shopify like a high-trust, low-process "trust battery" organization, Tobi is one of Canada's most admired technology leaders.
